TEACHER: KIM CHARNOCK
TILT Festival is pleased to have RoguePlay's Artistic Director running this Act Creation session.Kim has worked with numerous companies devising aerial and ground based theatre works and we are delighted to have her sharing some of her aerial devising techniques in this session.
The session is aimed at all levels of aerial ability, and for those looking to develop their skills and technique in aerial theatre and act creation.
Finding your style
Finding your style is about answering truthfully who you are. What kind of a person am I? What is my personality, your personal history like and what is it not like? and how is that reflected in your movement style? The workshop will help discover how your ‘essence' inspires your play in the air, and defines your aerial presence. You will create a plethora of devised material, focusing on incorporating aerial into the creative process, exploring devising with height and creating airbourne physical theatre. Looking at transitioning, feeling and ultimately how to make your act your own.
Silks, rope, hoop and straps will be available to work on during this session. You will be able to develop existing ideas if you have something you are already working on, or if you are starting from scratch or simply curious then the session will help explore the beginnings of new work and spark creative ideas.
