Circus Works & Circus Futures are partnering with RoguePlay  to present a mini-symposium in a format that we love to call “Show and Tell”. This offers a facilitated debate, breakfast, presentation and networking, before turning into a marketplace for artists and leading into some great outdoor and indoor work. Circus Brekkie truly kicks off a fantastic full day programming for industry delegates, arts professionals, emerging artists and those just interested.

This edition includes an extra focus on work being created and toured by young people, with Circus Works leading on the discussion over breakfast.

CircusWorks aims to make a stronger, more connected Youth Circus sector and is made up of representatives from youth circus’ around the UK. Since 2011 we have been creating festivals, conferences and networking opportunities to develop the future of youth circus. We provide opportunities to exchange training and good practice for young people and practitioners nationwide, and are the UK’s representing body for European Youth Circus and are a member of EYCO.

Lynn Carroll is currently a director and manager of CircusWorks, the UK Youth Circus Network. She has been a circus performer and teacher since training with social circus pioneer Reg Bolton in the 1980’s.

Lynn traveled Europe and Australia performing street shows and cabarets, as a juggler, acrobat, and aerialist. A long time performer with NoFit State Circus, Lynn has also worked with Circus Hazzard in Spain, Skinning the Cat, and her own aerial company Chimaera. Lynn gained her skills at Fooltime and Circus Space, plus with Roqulio Rivel in Spain and with Lu Rong in Australia. Lynn believes strongly in the power of circus to change lives. As head of Youth Circus at The Circus Space, London, she built the youth programme from a weekly 2 hour class to a major department within the organisation. She was Community Manager for NoFit State for 8 years, before leaving to spend more time on CircusWorks.

Peter Duncan is presenting alongside Lynn, and became interested in Circus whilst on a Social work course. He was one of the founders of Circus Eruption – a social circus based in Swansea. He has trained with Cirque du Monde , and worked as a trainer with many Circus groups in the UK, and contributed to masterclasses across Europe, A long term CircusWorks board member helping at several conferences and festivals. Current work includes circus and physical literacy with under 5’s , University of the Third Age- health and wellbeing circus for the over 60’s and work with Circushouse Manchester.

The session leads straight into some artist pitches led by Verena Cornwall of Circus Futures before Verena takes us through into the marketplace.
