A night of scratch work, young people & community.
SUNDAY 21ST JULY 7.30pm
West Midlands Creation Centre
Tickets: £10 (£8 class participants)
This year TILT Festival is very pleased to host this jam packed night of scratch performances from emerging artists, young people's work, community work and plethora of aerial acts from our regularly training students. It is the last event of the Festival, so come along and support some great developing aerialists and physical theatre artists.
Scratch That! is a great way to close the Festival with an event for all the family. The night's line up includes:
Ascension Dance, Lee Thompson (Clown Act), Geese Theatre and various young and adult aerial performances.
It’s also a great opportunity to see what training in Circus entails and how rewarding the results are if you are thinking of coming along to a class and getting involved.
Written and performed by Lorna Meehan
Directed by Zak Marsh
An autobiographical spoken word journey exploring coming of age, the nature of hero worship and the difficulty in just being yourself. Why do we get obsessed with idols who are essentially strangers to us? Why do we fixate on fantasies and how far should we push ourselves to be reckless if it's just not in our nature? Inspired by a deep connection to Jim Morrison and his band The Doors, 'Brazen' explores our complicated relationship with bravery, the transformative power of music and how sometimes, the wildest thing you can do is be vulnerable.
Lorna is a professional actor, spoken word artist and playwright. She has acted with local companies such as Women and Theatre, Somesuch and Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust and performed original poetry at MAC, The Rep and Warwick Arts Centre. As co-creative director of RoguePlay Theatre, she has written and performed in many of their productions. Her narrative apocalyptic poem '3 a.m Waitress', was turned into a dance theatre piece and received a 5 star review at last year's Edinburgh Fringe.
This is Lorna's first full length solo show.
